Lebanon

Is this the only Arab country without a vast expanse of desert?  Hmm....

I saw this MEA advertisement in summer 2000

and liked it so much, I posted it here

The old MEA logo was known to the Australians as

Four boomerangs and a sheep shearer's vest

Hector flew Fox-Mike for the last time on 30th December 1986 from Larnaka to Beirut

I don't want to make this a travel brochure so if you want a short introduction to Lebanon

click here for    Focus Multimedia Magazine Online

Working with MEA gained me an entrance to the Middle East where I developed an appreciation of  Arab culture

In particular, the following areas interest me:

Architecture:

design features on buildings

Calligraphy:

in the art form of Muslim world

Embroidery:

as a decorative art form

Language:

using the alphabet, numbers and some words

A building left standing uncompleted for over thirty years is demolished to make way for new development along Beirut's  waterfront Corniche

Do you recognise where it is?
